College Go Week
October 21, 2019
Bishop Noll celebrates College Go Week, a week dedicated to the future after high school. The counselors planned a week full of activities and resources to help students prepare for college.
Everyday started off with videos giving advice about college taken by former BNI students. Alongside, individual day events.
On Monday the counselors were available during lunch to discuss questions about colleges and careers. The theme of the day was cookies with the counselors.
Monday’sevent was helpful and rewarding. “Asking college related questions was easier for everyone because they weren’t scared or nervous, they were getting a cookie for it so it was more approachable,” senior, Antonio Ramirez explained.
On Tuesday sophomores were introduced to the impotence of tests such as the SAT and ACT. They also began to understand what the PSAT was through a PSAT Pre-Administration session.
Wednesday featured dress as your future career. The Bishop Noll hallways were filled with with different careers and outfits.
Meditations for Test Stress continued on Thursday. Meditation strategies for stress triggering tests such as the SAT and ACT were given to the juniors. Juniors also had PSAT Pre Administration.
On Friday, the hallways were once again filled with variety. The week ended with a college t-shirt day. Students showed off their favorite colleges and favorite college sports teams.
The week was a success and filled with helpful activities. “I enjoyed learning a little more about college everyday of the week,” explained Abigail Kawalec, junior.
