Schererville is gaining a hot Chicago chain that has quickly built up a cult following, Buona. This is their first restaurant opening in Indiana, however, the chain graces 19 locations throughout Chicago and surrounding cities.

Buona specializes in Italian beef, Chicago-style hotdogs, Italian sausages, meatball subs, pepper and egg sandwiches, and other classic Chicago fare, according to a Northwest Indiana Times article written by Joseph S. Pete.

Buona will take the place of the old Krispy Kreme site on Indianapolis Boulevard next to Steak N’ Shake, where other retail shops will also open as well this year.
