You could go to Garwood’s Orchard and Farm Market, located just an hour east of Chicago in Northwest Indiana. In the apple orchard, visitors can pick fresh, ripe apples right off the trees! Also available is the pumpkin patch, where guests are allowed to pick their pumpkins right off the vines. And make sure to stop by the indoor market, where various produce and treats are sold.
By this time of year, haunted houses should soon be up and running. One of the popular haunted houses in this area is Reaper’s Realm, which will begin September 28th. There will definitely be other haunted houses in the nearby high schools.
Even though it is no longer summer, it is surprisingly still a good time to head towards the beach. The water may be too cold for swimming, but there are other things to do, like walking on the beach and just taking in the full beauty of nature.
