The National Honor Society will begin their Dirty Water Campaign on May 6th, running until May 16th.
The purpose of the campaign is to raise awareness that a leading cause of illness and death worldwide can be attributed to a lack of access to clean water. According to Mrs. Lindsey Abbasy, NHS sponsor, students who wish to participate in the campaign can help raise money during the two week period by abstaining from beverages other than water, and putting all of the money that they would have spent on drinks into an empty water bottle that the NHS will provide them with.
At the end of the campaign, all money collected will be donated to a charity that builds clean water wells in developing countries. There will be more information about this event in the coming weeks.
