Bishop Noll girls volleyball celebrated senior night and secured a conference win over Lake Station on September 10.

The Lady Warriors swept the Lady Eagles in a 3-0 win at home on Thursday night.

Due to changing policies, the Lady Warriors decided to move the celebration to the first home game of the season, rather than the last.

It was an emotional night as seniors celebrated their final days playing volleyball as a BNI Warrior.

“It makes me sad, especially with everything that’s going with the pandemic,” said senior Emma Short. “However, time goes on and I am looking forward to the next chapter in my life.”

In order to earn the win, senior Rose Fuentes said, “We communicated very well and most importantly we were just having fun.”

Because of limited seating in the fieldhouse, each player is only allowed to bring 2 guests to watch them play.

When asked about the downsides to playing under restrictions, Fuentes said, “COVID didn’t allow my friends and some of my family to attend the game and cheer us on like years in the past.”

After graduation Short plans on focusing on her studies, rather than volleyball. On the other hand, Fuentes plans on playing college basketball.

“I am going to miss my teammates the most. They always made going to practice, games, and tournaments fun,” said Short.
