Michael Gil-Davidovich and Cesar Montemayor have been best friends since they were five years-old. Now, they both have the opportunity of not only playing the sport they love at the junior collegiate level, but also together.
Both men will be playing baseball next year at Ancilla College in Plymouth, Indiana. Ancilla plays at the junior collegiate level in the MCCAA conference. For both, they plan on receiving a scholarship after a team work out they will attend at the end of May. For Mike, if he doesn’t receive a scholarship, other arrangements could come into play. And for Cesar, he plans to just walk on.
Both chose the school for its small environment.
“I chose this school because it is based in a small environment and I’ll be able to get a lot of academic help,” Mike said. “Also with it being such a small school, more one-on-one help with teachers will be provided. At Ancilla I feel most comfortable here and it allows me to be able to go after my dreams.”
Cesar feels the same.
“I chose Ancilla College because it’s a small school, and I can take advantage of the easier access to the professors for the extra help I may need. It just felt like a right fit for me as a student and athlete,” he said.
Mike and Cesar both plan on playing infield for the Chargers, and Cesar also hopes to pitch. Just like everything else alike, both plan on majoring in Exercise Science.
