Senior wrestler Jesus Loe won the Lake County tournament on Saturday, Jan. 10 at East Chicago Central. Loe went 4-0 to be crowned the Lake County champ.
Jesus Loe defeated Hanover Central, Gavit, Lake Central(forfeit), and Lake Station. Jesus will be wrestling in his fourth and final sectional of his high school career on Saturday Jan. 31 at East Chicago Central,as he squares off against schools such as Hammond, Gavit, Clark and Lake Station. Last year, Jesus made it to semi-state and this year, he expects to improve.
Loe headed into sectionals with a 30-2 record.
“I just want to get sectionals over with so I can move on to regionals and focus on going as far I possibly can,” Loe said.
Loe finished in 3rd place, Saturday Jan. 30 at East Chicago Central and wrestled at regionals on Saturday Feb. 6 at Boone Grove. He has advanced to semi-state, which will take place on Saturday, Feb. 14.
