The girls tennis season flew by, as their 5-5 regular season record is what they brought with them going into sectionals. The girls were very focused on their depth this season, hoping that was what would create a successful postseason run for them.
“We had a lot of dependable girls on the team,” said senior Colleen Kearney, “We had a lot of confidence in one another and we really felt that that was what would help us in sectionals.”
With the loss of key seniors from last season, the team managed to work with what they had and didn’t look back. “We knew how good we were,” says junior Anna Hernandez, “We believed in each other all season, and our belief in one another is definitely what helped us have the season we did.”
The girls lost to Morton on Wednesday in the first round of sectionals, but the girls are proud of what they accomplished. This season was filled with hard work and dedication, which will carry into next season for an even better year of Warrior tennis.
