Bishop Noll’s football team ended with a loss last season to Rensselaer Central in the first sectional game. This was a tough loss for the team, but they had another tough loss after the season. Head Coach Michael Juscik stepped down from his position last Thursday to take a defensive coordinator position for his alma mater Concordia University in Chicago.
“I try to follow the path or direction that God puts in front of me,” Juscik said. “Seven years ago, I believe that is what led me back here. Now I just believe this is what God has in store for me next.”
Juscik was actually excited this season when it ended for his team. He knew what was in store for him, even if the rest of the team may have not liked his decision. He had always wanted to be a head coach in college and feels that this position puts him in a good spot to fulfill that dream. The main reason Juscik took the job was because of his relationship with the head coach at Concordia. They have known each other for seven years and have worked together before at Saginaw Valley State.
“I trust in what he does and how he develops young men,” Juscik said. “It is a great opportunity to learn.”
Bishop Noll is going to have a tough time finding a head coach to fulfill such big shoes. Currently, Juscik does not know who will be replacing him, but he does have a very good prediction for some of his players and team.
“I believe Nick Thrasher at quarterback and Jahari Davis at wide receiver will be two of the best players in conference,” he said. “My goal for them is to be conference champs, sectional champs and state champs. That will always be my goal and prediction for Bishop Noll football.”
