The Bishop Noll annual peanut butter drive will begin today, Feb. 13th, and will run until March 2nd. This year’s goal is 850 jars of peanut butter.
There will be a reward for the CCP who brings in the most peanut butter, plus the peanut butter trophy will be awarded to your CCP, according to Mrs. Ramirez, junior class sponsor.
Mr. Bob Homrich, a 1967 Noll alum will donate $1500 to the school if the students reach their donation goal. All of the peanut butter collected during the collection will go to a local food pantry in need of it.
Peanut butter is in high demand in food pantries, so it is normally the thing that they run out of first. Peanut butter has been named one of the top 10 foods to improve brain function in children, plus it also has a great source of protein.
“The peanut butter drive is important and unique because it concentrates on one food item, which happens to be the item the food pantry runs out of most of the time,” Ramirez said.
