Bishop Noll held their first open house on Tuesday, Oct. 26, from 6-8 PM, drawing 83 students from local grade schools and their parents.
This year, the open house underwent some minor changes to make it more visitor-friendly. A couple of the major hot spots were changed to showcase new classes and clubs, like the mass media class and the new pep band. Designated places for certain teachers to be in were relocated so that the hallways were less congested, particularly the 3rd Floor. Also, there was a route constructed that would lead visitors to the new weight room.
“I was pleased with the number of students that visited the school, ” said Drew Trost, vice principal and co-director of admissions.
Trost also said that the reactions and thoughts about the open house were positive.
“Many of the visiting students said that the open house was great and informative,” Trost said. “The visitors said that they didn’t need any more questions answered because they were already answered during the tours or presentations, so that is a good sign.”
Trost stated that the first open house was a well-earned success in terms of quality and timing. The next Bishop Noll open house will be on December 1st, 2011.
“To improve for the next Open House, we want to streamline the tours, primarily the parent tours, so that they can run more smoothly and quickly, ” Trost said.
